Marion Jones
Jones dominated the 100 metres, 200 metres and long jump in 1998, losing only once in 36 competitions. But even in 2000, she was already becoming embroiled in a steroids scandal that put those achievements in question. She hoped to take four titles at that year's World Championships, but withdrew from the meet after injuring her back during the 200m.
She faltered later that year at the TAC Nationals, placing fourth in the 200 and eighth in the 100.
On January 11, 2008, she was sentenced to 6 months in prison followed by 2 years of probation, and 800 hours of community service working with young athletes.
